I am interested in strategies of salvage, recycling and improvisation produced by the conditions of lived experience. This ability to use what is at hand generates unique techniques, skills, and solutions that are inventive and aesthetically layered. This knowledge is part of a tradition that has been passed down and evolved over generations. These practical skills borne of necessity take on a new life when used to make objects that do not have a use or purpose.
